JD Shaw retired from Phantom Regiment's brass staff after 17 years and two rings. Regiment did not promote from within. Their headline hire came from outside the organization: Vince Oliver, off Bluecoats' music design staff.
Then they kept going. Five more hires landed in the same week. Four of those five came straight out of Santa Clara Vanguard. Two more came out of Mandarins.
Six hires in three days is not a caption fix. It is a design-staff transplant, and it landed on two corps sitting at very different points in their own rebuilds.
